Born in a music teacher’s family, Masato Honda got interests in music since childhood. He started saxophone when he was in 3rd grade of elementary school. At collage time, he played in the collage’s jazz orchestra and won the 1st Prize as well as the Best Soloist Prize in Yamano Big Band Jazz Contest. At the same time, he also played in “Hara Nobuo and Sharps & Flats” as lead alto player. 1991, he joined the famous fusion group “T-SQUARE” and became the major face of the group. 1998, he left “T-SQUARE” and started his solo artist activity. Beside his own band, he also collaborates with many artists in wide range such as recording, arrangement and producing.
